Sometime on July 25, 1963, Kristie's mom gave birth to two baby girls. Back then, they weren't able to tell if there were multiple babies, she just showed up and had twins...surprise. The twins were child #8 and #9. Imagine already having 7 kids and having twins...I can't. They had names chosen, apparently the baby was going to be named Katherine Kristin. So when she found out that it was twins, she split the name up and then looked to her friend and neighbor, Mary Lou, for the rest of the names. Katherine Mary and Kristin Louise were the babies names.
Kristie spent her early years in Edina, Minnesota, then the family moved to Sand Point, Idaho when she was about 10. They were there for a few years and moved again to Denver ... Littleton to be precise, where she's been ever since.
I met Kristie in college...she was a cute freshman girl on our sister floor in the dorm. I was big, stud sophomore. It was actually the case of starting with a new crop of girls, since the returning girls in the dorm knew all about us and we didn't stand a chance! We had a dorm "thing" and had a tumultuous on-agin, off-again relationship for the next couple of years. But I remained steadfast and chased her relentlessly...but she finally gave in and we were a permanent couple when I was a senior. We've been together ever since.
I'm fortunate because Kristie has a great sense of humor and balances me out perfectly. It's almost like God knew what He was doing! We make a great couple (if I do say so myself). She is beautiful and truly my best friend. I love her completely and I love the fact that I get to tell her that everyday.....
Happy Birthday Kristie!
